Welcome to Ingham State School. We are extremely proud of our school and I am delighted to share some information about our school with you.
Our educational philosophy places an emphasis on maximising student learning potential within an environment where children feel supported and safe. Engagement, discovery, curiosity and enjoyment are crucial elements that we attempt to ensure within our classrooms. It is essential that our students feel comfortable and motivated to be academic risk takers-to gain resilience. It is within such an environment that students learn to take increasing responsibility, start to become more independent and gain a strong understanding of who they are and have a strong belief in themselves.
It is an important objective of Ingham State School for our students to have the skills to be lifelong learners, to have the strategies to be confident, effective and successful citizens of the 21 century. Our Information communication technology (ICT) program acknowledges that our young people are entering a global economy where they will be challenged to analyse information, collaborate and communicate their ideas using an ever-changing array of technology.
Our teachers are dynamic and committed to ensuring they have the knowledge to cater for all needs and learning styles. We believe it is essential for our students to learn to work productively and harmoniously with individuals and groups. We attempt to ensure innovative ways of encouraging co- operative work, research and problem solving. One of our major objectives is to extend each child to ensure they achieve academically, artistically, emotionally, socially and physically.
Our students are taught strategies to deal with conflict and disagreement and gain the capacity to seek solutions in difficult situations. Student initiative and leadership are fostered and nurtured and student achievement and effort is generously acknowledged. We provide an excellent range of support services and a wealth of extracurricular activities across sport, arts, culture and community links.
Perhaps our greatest asset is our positive close and sustained relationship with parents and community. These people are such a vital part of our team and we work collaboratively to achieve our vision of each individual student achieving their greatest potential.
